Yang Ming’s statement on media report regarding its fleet renewal plan

Mar 27, 2024

Regarding the news report published recently regarding the fleet renewal plan of Yang Ming Marine Transport Corp., we hereby make the following clarification:

  1. Shipbuilding planning is integral to the Yang Ming's business operation. To manage a competitive fleet and achieve the common goal of reducing GHG emissions, the Company cautiously assesses and makes plans for future shipbuilding needs according to its medium- and long-term business development goals, taking into account factors such as international regulatory trends, shipping technologies, and supply of alternative energies.
  2. The aforementioned report on Yang Ming's CapEx planning is purely the media's own speculation. Any information on the Company's major CapEx planning will be published on the MOPS (Market Observation Post System) of the TWSE (Taiwan Stock Exchange Corporation).
