WCAworld appoints Markez as Managing Director, Lognet Global

Lognet Global, the independent freight forwarder network powered by WCAworld, announces the appointment of Cecilia Markez as Managing Director of Lognet Global. The announcement was made during the recent Lognet Global Conference held in Panama City, where members from across the global logistics community gathered for the network’s annual event.

Cecilia Markez brings more than 20 years of experience in the logistics and freight forwarding industry to the role. Originally from Argentina, she began her career working for a freight forwarder in Argentina before continuing her professional journey in New Zealand, where she further developed her operational and industry expertise.

Markez later joined WCAworld and relocated to Bangkok, Thailand, where she spent two years at the company’s headquarters. During her time there, she began leading WCAworld’s claims and financial protection program which she continued for 12 years, gaining extensive experience in risk management, member services and network operations.

She currently serves as Vice President for Latin America at WCAworld and is based in Miami, overseeing regional member relations and network development throughout the LATAM region. In this role, she works closely with members to support growth initiatives, strengthen collaboration and help companies maximize the value of WCAworld’s global resources and services.

Speaking about her appointment, Markez said: “I am honored to take on the role of Managing Director of Lognet Global and continue working alongside such a dynamic and professional membership base. Having worked within WCAworld for many years and closely with members across Latin America, I understand the importance of strong relationships, trust and practical support within a network environment. I look forward to helping Lognet Global continue to grow and deliver value to members around the world.”

WCAworld leadership welcomed the appointment and highlighted Markez’s extensive industry background and long-standing commitment to supporting independent freight forwarders worldwide.
