Velebit-Promet, part of Liburnia Group, expands heavy transport capabilities with an SPMT

Apr 21, 2026

Velebit-Promet, part of Liburnia Group, has expanded its heavy transport capabilities with the addition of a Cometto Self-Propelled Modular Transporter (SPMT), further strengthening its ability to manage complex and oversized cargo.

The newly added SPMT, part of the Cometto MSPE range, features 8 axle lines and offers an axle load capacity of up to 70 tonnes. It is designed for precise maneuvering and controlled movement of heavy components, particularly in port and industrial environments where space constraints and operational complexity require a high level of accuracy.

Equipped with 360-degree electronic steering and hydraulic lifting, the SPMT enables efficient positioning of cargo without unnecessary repositioning. This contributes to improved safety and operational efficiency across different stages of transport.

The SPMT will be deployed across projects managed by Velebit-Promet and Liburnia Group, including operations in port and industrial environments in Croatia and the wider region. Its introduction supports ongoing efforts to strengthen in-house capabilities and maintain control over complex logistics processes.

This addition reflects Velebit’s and Liburnia’s continued approach to developing internal capabilities, with a focus on precision, reliability, and operational control in demanding transport conditions. It also represents one of the first SPMT units of this configuration on the Croatian market, with one of the highest load capacities currently available.
