US crude exports return to form

Today's weekly EIA report showed US crude exports rebounding to 3.43 million barrels per day. This return to form was aided by the first Alaskan loading of ANS since early June, and bolstered by a VLCC export from LOOP last Thursday. Weekly Beaumont loadings also reached their highest since the week ending April 2.

US Gulf Coast crude exports came in at a four-week high, very close to the export pace projected by our joint product with McQuilling Services and Link Data Services.

This strong pace looks to ease the next two weeks, however, before rebounding in the first two weeks of September based on higher backhaul opportunities and ballasting capacity heading to the US Gulf.
