Transport workers union strike impact in Finnish Ports

Mar 12, 2024

Finnish Transport Workers Union AKT has begun its strike impacting all Finnish ports and terminals from 11th March at 6 AM until 25th March at 6 AM. The Union AKT has declared the strike in opposition to proposed amendments by the country’s government to labor legislation.

The strike will have significant implications widespread across the Finnish society and specifically all Finnish port operations will be suspended as a consequence.

All vessel operations in Finnish ports, gate moves, and handling of containers within terminals are now suspended until 25th March at 6 AM.
