Total Distribution, Inc. honored as First Place Fleet Safety Award winner by Florida Trucking Association

Sep 18, 2020

Total Distribution, Inc. (TDI), a Peoples Services, Inc. company, has been honored as the First Place Fleet Safety Award winner as voted on by Florida Trucking Association’s Safety Management Council. This award is in the Truckload Shipping (TL) Division – Under 5 Million Miles. TDI’s Fleet Safety Award comes amid this year's National Truck Driver Appreciation Week, September 13-19 and takes on a special significance considering the crucial role truck drivers have played during the COVID-19 pandemic.

“I was very pleased and proud to learn about the Fleet Safety Award the TDI team won this year,” said Ike Sherlock, Vice President of Operations, Total Distribution, Inc. “Of all of the awards a trucking company can win, a safety award speaks volumes to the commitment of a company and its associates to our industry and the community at large.”

While the Florida Trucking Association will not be holding its Annual Conference this year due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the organization says it does intend on celebrating all of the SMC award winners in-person in 2021 when safe and appropriate. There is no better time than right now to recognize and better understand the essential work the trucking industry is doing during this difficult time, and the importance of safety on our roads.

“Florida Trucking Association is proud to represent trucking companies across Florida,” said Kenneth S. Armstrong, Ph.D., President and CEO, Florida Trucking Association. “When one of our members is selected as ‘best of the best’ through our annual safety awards, there is special meaning. Total Distribution, Inc. has a long record of both safety and collaboration. Kudos to the TDI team.”

Total Distribution is an ISO 9001:2015 certified 3rd party logistics and warehouse provider and a member of IWLA, OTA, ATA, and WERC. Furthermore, Peoples Services is one of only three warehouse companies that have earned the ACC Responsible Care Management Certification and the NACD Responsible Distribution Affiliation. The company’s recent recertification demonstrates its continued belief and support in Responsible Care as it continues to incorporate it into its policies and procedures in the workplace.
