The International Air Cargo Association (TIACA) has appointed a group of six industry leaders, visionaries and sustainability champions to review and evaluate the 2022 TIACA Sustainability Awards submissions. The Awards, run in partnership with one of the leading industry IT solutions providers CHAMP Cargosystems, is now in its third edition. The Awards aim to recognize outstanding businesses and industry initiatives to make air cargo more sustainable. There are two categories being judged, one for Start-Up/Small Business and the second for Corporate and established businesses.
The jury composition;
These jurors are tasked with independently evaluating the submissions as to whether the proposed project maximizes the goals of sustainability that will positively impact the air cargo industry. The jury will then select three of the Start-up/Small Business submissions as finalists and one Corporate submission as the 2022 Corporate Air Cargo Sustainability Award winner.
“The word Sustainability has now achieved a level of recognition, challenging us to consider our impact on the planet and our stewardship for future generations. We therefore look forward to seeing how companies can respond to this challenge in this year’s TIACA Sustainability Awards, which we are delighted to sponsor for a third successive year,” states Chris McDermott, CEO of CHAMP Cargosystems, the Exclusive Sponsor of the Awards.
The three finalists in the Start-up/Small Business category will be asked to share their initiative with the audience during the Air Cargo Forum in Miami, November 8-10. The audience will then participate in the decision as to which initiative will receive the first-place prize of $10,000 USD and the two runner-up prizes of $2,500 USD each.
The winner in the Corporate category will be announced ahead of the event and recognized for their efforts in making air cargo more sustainable.
“2022 has proven to be a year of innovation and change for the industry with eyes focused on ensuring a sustainable path for the next generation of air cargo leaders and the application received this year reflect this progressive spirit. I am sure it will be challenging for our jury to select the winners. We have to thank CHAMP Cargosystems for their continued support as the exclusive sponsor of this award, without them we would not be able to formally recognize these efforts.” Steven Polmans, TIACA Chair.
