Global turn-by-turn navigation pioneer Sygic, trusted by more than two million professional drivers, now allows users to select STAA roads as a preference in its settings, enabling them to avoid unnecessary complications en route, and thereby increase safety and the on-time delivery of their cargos.
The new feature uses a smart algorithm, which automatically calculates the most efficient route, especially for heavy trucks, preferring STAA-compliant highways and certain primary roads for vehicles with larger turning circles.
“What is unique about our solution is that it does not blindly guide drivers to National Truck Network roads even at the cost of a detour,” said Jozef Klinovsky, Head of Product Delivery at Sygic.
“It also considers roads which are not part of the network.By incorporating several variables, including vehicle parameters, it combines various types of appropriate routes to achieve the fastest, safest and most convenient route for large trucks,” Klinovsky added.
