Jan 06, 2023

The new CEO will accelerate the company’s growth and diversification as a leading owner and operator of a diverse fleet of quality ships.

Lila Global, a leading dry bulk and tanker operator, has appointed Mr Steve Kunzer as CEO effective as of 6 February 2023. Steve brings over 30 years of experience to the role, having run large fleets of over 100 vessels in the bulk carrier, crude, product, chemical and LPG tanker, and PCTC sectors. He previously held positions with Tanker Pacific Management and Eastern Pacific Shipping.

The majority of Steve’s career was spent working at companies in Singapore, China and Hong Kong, with recent experience taking place in Europe following his relocation in 2018. He is presently a member of the board at Norden and a non-executive director at Braemar Shipping Services.

“I am delighted to be joining Lila Global and look forward to building on the strong foundations laid by the existing team,” Steve said. “Under their stewardship, the fleet has grown considerably over the past decade. My focus shall be on continuing to operate quality vessels that deliver results for our customers and further growing and diversifying the fleet.”

Dr. Anil Sharma, Founder, and CEO of GMS, Lila Global’s parent company said: “Steve brings a wealth of experience in running international shipping organizations at a time when Lila Global is seeking to expand the fleet and widen our portfolio, whilst maintaining the company’s reputation for transporting cargoes with care. I look forward to seeing what he and the existing management team will achieve together.”
