The St. Bernard Port, Harbor and Terminal District, in partnership with Associated Terminals, is pleased to announce the official Dedication Ceremony for the Chalmette Slip Rehabilitation Project, a major infrastructure achievement decade in the making.

The event will take place on Wednesday, May 14, from 10:30 AM to 12:00 PM, at the Chalmette Slip. Parking and shuttle service will be provided from the Port’s Administrative Building, located at 100 Port Blvd, Chalmette, LA 70043.

This transformative project restores full operational capability to the Chalmette Slip for the first time in over 40 years. Originally built in 1907, the slip has long been vital to Louisiana’s maritime economy. Its full rehabilitation significantly enhances the Port’s long-term capabilities, increases regional cargo capacity, and reinforces the economic importance of the Mississippi River system as a global trade corridor.

Elected officials, business partners, and community members are invited to attend and take part in celebrating the revitalization of one of the Gulf South’s most strategically located port assets.
