May 18, 2020

Renee Krug, chief executive officer of GlobalTranz, and Timothy “Tim” Story – president of SGI LLC and executive vice president of Worldwide Express – have been named to the board of directors for SMC³. The organization’s mission is to serve the transportation community by delivering proven over-the-road technology solutions and unrivaled educational events.

Under Krug's leadership, GlobalTranz has continued on a path of record growth, fueled by award-winning technology, people-powered customer service, and extensive multimodal carrier relationships. Her deep financial and supply chain expertise have reinforced the 3PL as a market leader. Prior to her appointment as CEO in 2018, she served as the company’s chief financial officer. She previously held leadership roles at Clear Channel Outdoor, Swift Transportation and Honeywell.
Story founded the Story Group, which is now known as SGI LLC, in 2000. During a 10-year period prior to founding Story Group, he held various positions with Pitney Bowes. Tim is 30-year veteran of the transportation software industry where he has held leadership positions and participated in significant investments that fueled innovation and change in the technology that shapes the industry today and will for many years to come.
“Tim and Renee are both true industry leaders with extensive supply chain experience. Their expertise and insight will help SMC³ continue to evolve its educational and technology offerings in a changing industry,” said SMC³ President and CEO Andrew Slusher. “I look forward to working closely with both of them, and the rest of our board, as we steer SMC³, and the industry as a whole, toward a robust and successful future.”
Reid Dove, chairman of the SMC³ Board of Directors, echoed Slusher’s sentiments.
“The additions of Renee and Tim strengthen SMC³’s ability to reach out to all supply chain participants and support the industry with innovative and trusted solutions. I’m proud to have them join the SMC³ Board of Directors and look forward to working with them over the coming months and years,” Dove said.
The board of directors oversees finances and sets policies for the company, acting in the best interests of its members. The SMC³ board is a steadying presence in a sometimes tumultuous industry, offering SMC³ leadership guidance and insight into emerging supply-chain challenges and trends.
