Slovakia closes borders for non-residents to fight coronavirus

Slovakia closed its borders to non residents and erected other restrictions to confront the outbreak of coronavirus in Europe.

The country situated between the Czech Republic, Poland, Hungary, Austria and Ukraine will also close international airports, schools, bars and clubs and impose mandatory quarantine for anyone returning from abroad, Premier Peter Pellegrini told journalists Thursday.

The number of cases in Slovakia has risen to 16, out of a population of 5.4 million people.
