Sherlock joins AGX Freight as COO/EVP

Oct 08, 2021

AGX Freight announced the appointment of Ike Sherlock as Chief Operating Officer and Executive Vice President effective October 8, 2021. Sherlock will be responsible for leading the company's Jacksonville based transportation and logistics organization.

Sherlock most recently served as Vice President of Operations at Total Distribution, Inc. (TDI) where he was responsible for the operation of a 650,000 SF warehouse, including a kitting and packaging division, and an asset-based trucking division with more than 150 associates. He first joined TDI’s predecessor organization, The Grimes Company, in 2006 leading that organization through successful growth for more than a dozen years, while winning multiple industry awards for excellence.

Sherlock’s ties to the North Florida transportation & logistics industry span more than two decades. His operational competencies, exceptional leadership, integrity and advocacy are what attracted AGX to pursue Sherlock for the role. He is a Past President of CSCMP Jacksonville Roundtable, Florida State Director of SWA, Co-Chair of the Transportation Council for IWLA and President of the Rotary Club of West Jacksonville. Sherlock’s other memberships and affiliations include TALON, TCJAX, Jacksonville Propeller Club, American Trucking Association and the Florida Trucking Association.

“I am excited to join the AGX Freight Executive team,” Sherlock said. “In just over 5 years, AGX has emerged from an ambitious start-up to a national freight transportation and logistics business with a tremendous upside for continued growth.”

Sherlock joins AGX Freight, which is led by Founder & CEO, Mike Williams, during a period of accelerating growth for the company. In December of last year, Williams announced the company expected to achieve $100 million in gross sales revenue in 2021, up some 70% over 2020, despite the United States’ economy being in recovery mode from the challenges associated with the global pandemic

“I speak for the entire AGX Freight organization when I express our excitement to add Ike to the team,” Williams said. “Ike’s proven leadership and his superior results-oriented execution of freight logistics, sharpened from a career exemplified by award-winning service, will propel AGX Freight into the future. We are aligned in our philosophy and core values of safety, integrity, loyalty and empowerment.”
