Jun 29, 2021

Spreading its wings to Western Europe, Sultanate’s fastest-growing value-for-money airline, SalamAir, has announced direct flights from Muscat to Sarajevo, the capital of Bosnia and Herzegovina. Sarajevo is one of the world’s emerging tourist destinations with an East meets West modern culture and is also designated as a UNESCO Creative City. With the launch of direct services to Sarajevo, SalamAir has introduced its fourth summer destination for 2021 giving its passengers from the Sultanate of Oman an additional choice apart from its three other summer destinations announced as Istanbul, Trabzon, and Shiraz.

Scheduled to commence from June 21, 2021, the new link will initially operate once a week to Sarajevo on Monday, departing Muscat at 16:15 local time and arriving in Sarajevo at 20:25 local time. The flight will depart Sarajevo at 21:10 local time arriving in Muscat at 05:10 local time.

Captain Mohamed Ahmed, CEO of SalamAir said "We are extremely happy to announce Sarajevo as our 4th Summer destination and to have added our first Western European destination to our network. We are constantly listening to our passengers and providing them with the best and safest travel options. With visa-free entry for Omani and other GCC nationals, plus with no quarantine requirements, I believe Sarajevo as our other three summer destinations Istanbul, Trabzon, and Shiraz are extremely appealing for travel."

He continued "Our passenger's safety remains our utmost priority and as an airline, we are taking all precautions and our operations are subject to strict adherence to the instructions issued by the Civil Aviation Authority and other COVID-19 related guidelines issued by the local and foreign authorities."

SalamAir currently operates 6 brand new Airbus A320Neo aircraft making it the first Omani carrier to utilize the highly rated single-aisle aircraft. SalamAir was awarded the Youngest Fleet in Asia 2021 by Chi-Aviation Switzerland. SalamAir flies to domestic destinations including Muscat, Salalah, and international destinations to Dubai, Doha, Shiraz, Istanbul, Alexandria, Khartoum, Multan, Sialkot, Karachi, Dhaka, Chattogram, Calicut, Jaipur, Trivandrum, and Lucknow. Additional passenger services to compliment the customer experience on the home-grown airline include options for extra luggage, seat, and meal selection.
