Oct 17, 2024

Ørsted, a leading global clean energy company, has bolstered its New England team by hiring Brian Smith as Head of Government and Market Affairs and Jenna Massoud as Stakeholder Relations Manager in the region.

In their roles, Smith and Massoud will help to maintain and cultivate relationships with

stakeholders across New England as Ørsted builds its Revolution Wind farm and develops future projects in the region.

“We are thrilled to welcome Brian and Jenna at this pivotal time for New England’s offshore wind industry,” said Brady Walker, Head of Government Affairs and Strategy at Ørsted Americas. “Their experience in government and stakeholder relations will be instrumental as we deliver on our commitments in the region.”

Smith brings significant experience in government relations and policy, most recently serving as Director of State Government Affairs and Policy at General Electric. He has also held roles at utility WGL and Brookfield Renewable, and worked in the U.S. House of Representatives as a communications and legislative assistant.

“It’s an exciting time for New England’s offshore wind industry and Blue Economy, and I look forward to engaging with stakeholders across the region,” said Smith. “I’m proud to join my new colleagues in building this new American energy industry.”

Massoud previously served as Senior District Representative for Congressman Jake Auchincloss (MA-04), where she led Congressional outreach across 30+ Massachusetts communities, including offshore wind advocacy in Somerset and South Coast, Massachusetts.

“I’m thrilled that my new role at Ørsted will allow me to contribute to the growth of New England’s already-vibrant clean energy economy,” said Massoud. “I look forward to strengthening my relationships across New England and working to improve the region I call home.”
