Royal Air Maroc expands Munich Airport’s route network to Africa

Jul 03, 2025

Morocco's national carrier is returning to Munich Airport: From October 20, 2025, Royal Air Maroc will resume its nonstop service between Munich and Casablanca. The route had been part of the airline's schedule for many years until the pandemic, but has not been operated since then.

The airline operates the route twice a week, on Mondays and Fridays, using a Boeing 737-800.

During the last week of the summer schedule – from October 20 to 26 – the flight will arrive in Munich at 6:00 p.m., with departure for Casablanca scheduled for 7:00 p.m. Starting October 27, the flight will land at 5:10 p.m. and depart at 6:10 p.m.

The flight times allow seamless connections in Casablanca to numerous destinations within Morocco as well as to West and Central Africa, such as Gambia, Nigeria, Ghana, Senegal, and Ivory Coast. Royal Air Maroc now offers from Munich easier access to various regions.

In addition to its economic importance, Casablanca is also an attractive destination for culture and tourism. Morocco's largest city is known for its imposing Hassan II Mosque, modern architecture, Atlantic port, and role as North Africa's commercial and financial center. For individual travelers, the city is also an ideal starting point for tours of the kingdom – from the coastal cities to the royal cities and the High Atlas Mountains.

Trade relations between Bavaria and Morocco date back several hundred years. Even today, the Bavarian capital Munich in particular maintains close economic, scientific, and cultural ties with North Africa - and these links are now being strengthened once again with a direct flight connection.
