Port of Montreal’s Contrecoeur expansion project crowned Project of the Year

Nov 08, 2021

On October 28, the Montreal Port Authority received the Oracle Project of the Year award in the Opportunity/Equity category for its Contrecoeur expansion project. The award was presented during the 13th North America Strategic Infrastructure Leadership Forum held annually by CG/LA Infrastructure, an event that brings together more than 500 participants from the major players in the infrastructure sector.

This category recognizes the project that generates the most long-term benefits in terms of the well-being of the communities it serves and the creation of direct and indirect jobs. Winning the award shone a spotlight on the quality of the efforts made over the years by the MPA and the project team to develop an engaging project in close collaboration with the stakeholders.

That same day, Paul Bird, Vice-President, Contrecoeur at the MPA, addressed the event. He spoke on a panel to update attendees on the status of the Port of Montreal’s Contrecoeur expansion project, including the next steps in the procurement process, such as the Request for Qualification that got underway in November.
