Port of Montreal strike announcement

Jul 02, 2020

The Maritime Employer’s Association in the port of Montreal has received a strike notice starting on Thursday July 2 at 3 p.m. and ending on Saturday July 4 at 6:59 a.m. As a result of this strike notice, the two Terminals operated by MGT (Racine and Cast) will cease operations during these two days. The strike will last 40 hours. Consequently, Operations are expected to resume activities as soon as Saturday, July 4 at 7 a.m.

For the Ottawa Express Voyage 12E27, customers are encouraged to present their cargo to the terminal by Thursday July 2 at 3 p.m. prior to the start of the strike action. The truck gate at MGT is open July 1, albeit a Public Holiday.
All efforts will be made to make up for the delays that will be caused by this exceptional situation.
