For an eighth consecutive year, the Port of Long Beach has secured the title of Best West Coast Seaport in North America by the readers of the prestigious shipping trade publication Asia Cargo News.
The publication announced the Port’s win June 24 at its Asian Freight, Logistics and Supply Chain Awards in Shanghai, where it honored top seaports, shipping lines and logistics leaders at the annual event. The Port of Long Beach was represented by the Port’s Director of Business Development Roger Wu and Michael Ong Jr., the Port’s overseas representative in Asia.
More than 15,000 readers and e-newsletter subscribers of Asia Cargo News nominated companies for each category, then determined the winner from a list of eight finalists in each category. The event highlights organizations in the industry that demonstrate leadership and consistency in customer-relationship management, innovation and reliability.

“Thank you to Asia Cargo News and its esteemed readership for continuing to see our value as the Port of Choice and naming us as the Best West Coast Seaport in North America for eight years in a row – an honor made possible by our talented waterfront workforce, supply chain partners and team at the Port,” said Port of Long Beach CEO Dr. Noel Hacegaba. “In a sea of tariffs and geopolitical uncertainty, one thing is certain: our customers can count on the Port of Long Beach. This achievement further strengthens our drive to build the Port of the Future and achieve our bold, new 2050 Vision to double cargo volumes to 20 million units annually by 2050.”
“It’s an honor to be recognized again as the best on the West Coast and it is something we do not take for granted,” said Long Beach Harbor Commission President Frank Colonna. “That’s why the Port of Long Beach continues to strive for excellence by investing in its infrastructure and its workforce to ensure a high level of customer service and cargo movement efficiency and reliability.”
