Feb 28, 2024

Pledge has been announced as the World Cargo Association’s (WCAworld) official sustainability partner at this year’s WCA Worldwide Conference, 27 February – 2 March 2024, Dubai, UAE, Dubai World Trade Centre (DWTC).

The partnership was announced at WCAworld’s ECO-Program session by Randy Van Velthoven, Regional Manager Europe, WCAworld, recognising Pledge’s position as an industry leader in the pursuit of decarbonising global supply chains.

“WCAworld is delighted to welcome Pledge as our official sustainability partner,” said Dan March, Chief Executive Officer (CEO), WCA Ltd.

“Our members are increasingly aware of the importance of emissions reduction and the role logistics will need to play in meeting the global goals of protecting the environment.

“With a raft of new regulations rolling out and carbon reduction targets rising to the top of government agendas, Pledge will play a vital role as an information and resource source for our whole group.”

Pledge’s software enables freight forwarders to provide the necessary data and insights for shippers who need to comply with emissions disclosure regulations and adopt sustainable strategies.

“Pledge has been collaborating with WCAworld to promote opportunities for integrating climate action into its members’ businesses,” said David de Picciotto, CEO and Co-founder, Pledge.

“Incorporating carbon reporting capabilities into businesses’ systems is becoming vital across the supply chain as pressure mounts on shippers to provide more visibility of their supply chain carbon footprint.

“Pledge aims to provide the necessary data and resources to help freight forwarders provide this service to their customers, delivering value in a simple and cost-effective way.”

WCAworld is currently promoting its ECO Program, encouraging members to use GLEC-accredited carbon reporting platforms like Pledge.

Some of the current WCAworld members using Pledge include Europa Worldwide, XPand Logistics, Unsworth, and Synergie Canada.

WCAworld has over 12,000 member offices across 197 countries; therefore, this partnership has the potential to facilitate significant positive impact on global logistics’ ability to meet shippers’ carbon reporting needs.
