Phillips Connect welcomes Wazny as Vice President of channel sales

Oct 26, 2021

Todd Wazny has joined Phillips Connect as vice president of channel sales. He brings more than twenty years of experience in telematics, logistics, and location services to his new position with Phillips Connect.

Wazny’s background includes key positions in strategic planning, enterprise sales, fleet relationship development, and engineering with EROAD, Ltd. and Spireon, Inc. Over his career, he has been instrumental in building partnerships across businesses, resulting in benefits for those companies and their customers. His telematics product knowledge, along with a visionary outlook for what is truly possible for Smart-Trailers, will help Phillips Connect integrate and expand its telematics offerings to encompass bumper-to-bumper solutions that meet the industry’s goal of fully connected tractors and trailers.

“Todd is the perfect fit to help direct us to the future of commercial vehicles,” said Jim Epler, executive vice president. “His forward-thinking and results-oriented persona matches the Phillips Connect philosophy of finding solutions for tomorrow’s challenges - not just what’s in front of us today. We’re very pleased he has joined our team.”

Wazny’s initial focus will be to grow channel sales efforts by encompassing additional partners to expand the availability of Phillips Connect products, and to significantly increase the number of vehicle operators using them. He will also play an important role in developing an evolving strategic plan as the company defines the opportunities for trailer telematics in the future.

Also joining the team is Steve Randall, Phillips Connect’s new director of business intelligence & analytics. Randall worked for Werner Enterprises for more than thirty years, most recently as equipment resource manager.

Phillips Connect continues to increase its workforce to support the company’s current market and its aggressive growth expectations. Over the last few months, in addition to Wazny and Randall, Phillips Connect has filled: (16) skilled engineering positions including software, hardware, test, QA, and firmware engineers along with field and technical product engineers; (12) warehouse/logistics jobs, and multiple marketing and support staff positions. Phillips Connect continues to accept applications for additional open positions as they build a team equipped to meet the future of connected commercial vehicles in the United States and worldwide.
