PECO Pallet recognizes top trucking performers in annual carrier of the year awards

Feb 05, 2025

PECO Pallet, one of North America’s largest providers of rental pallet services to the beverage, grocery, and consumer products industries, has recognized four outstanding trucking companies for their superior service in its annual Carrier of the Year awards program.

Each year PECO works with more than 100 trucking service partners for transportation of the company’s signature red, highly engineered nine-block pallets, which are used by hundreds of customers in dozens of industries in North America as their primary platform for securely shipping goods.

The 2024 award program selected one honoree from each of PECO’s four primary service regions: Eastern U.S, Midwest U.S., Western U.S., and Canada.

PECO Pallet selected four regional winners representing the Eastern U.S, Midwest U.S., Western U.S. and Canada in its annual Carrier of the Year awards program. Accepting the award for J.B. Hunt - Dallas, which captured the honor for the Midwest region, is Shaneka Fredrick, Director I, Operations, J.B. Hunt - Dallas.

Selected as 2024’s honorees were Sabal Transport, Bartow, Fla. (Eastern U.S.); J.B. Hunt, Dallas, Texas (Midwest U.S.); Western Pallet Supply and Logistics, Tracy, Calif. (Western U.S.); and Bison Transport, Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada (Canada).

“We are proud to recognize our Carrier of the Year honorees for 2024, who consistently went above and beyond to provide exemplary transportation service for PECO’s depots and customers,” said Mike Greene, PECO’s senior vice president of network planning and transportation. “They earned the highest scores in their regions, demonstrating unwavering commitment to safety, on-time delivery, and cost-effective service. We congratulate them on their superior performance and extend a thank you to all our trucking service providers, who are integral to PECO’s success. We truly value their support each day.”

PECO’s Carrier of the Year program objectively assesses carriers on key performance metrics including equipment quality and availability, on-time performance, delivery updates, invoicing timeliness, safety, data quality, proactive communications, and overall customer support. Evaluation criteria also include cost-reduction initiatives, FMCSA CSA scores, and continuous improvement efforts.

Pallets are the primary platform on which businesses stack, secure, and ship products of all types in trucks, intermodal rail containers, and other conveyance vehicles. Sustainability is at the core of PECO’s business, and its pooled pallet system promotes a more sustainable supply chain by fostering the reuse and recycling of pallets. This helps reduce waste and minimizes the environmental impact of single-use alternatives. PECO’s network serves a broad range of industries, including big-box retailers, club stores, consumer products companies, grocers, agriculture, and local and regional distributors.
