Panama Canal Transit Surcharge - CMA CGM Latin America services

To finance large infrastructure investments and improve transit certainty and flexibility, Panama Canal Authority has implemented from January 2025 a new prepaid slot allocation (LoTSA) for Neopanamax vessels and also increased their booking fee.

To recover this extra cost and keep providing reliable services transiting through Panama Canal, CMA CGM will implement a Panama Canal Transit surcharge from January 1st, 2025, on the following trades in/out South America West Coast:

Effective January 1st, 2025 (January 10th, 2025 for shipments from/to Puerto Rico & Virgin Islands)

- From: Caribbean, South America East Coast, North Europe, Mediterranean, Africa, Indian Ocean, Middle East, Red Sea & Indian Subcontinent

- Via: Panama Canal

- To: South America West Coast

- Cargo: all

- Amount: USD 150 per TEU
