Panama Canal extends service hours and updates Transit Reservation System

Oct 01, 2025

The Panama Canal announces enhancements to its Transit Reservation System aimed at providing a faster and more accessible service for all customers.
In response to customer feedback and reaffirming our commitment to continuous improvement, the operating hours of the Transit Reservation Office will be extended starting October 5, 2025.

Under this new schedule, the office will operate from 07:00 to 22:00 local time, allowing all customers, particularly those in distant time zones, to complete their transactions without having to wait until the next business day.

During these extended hours, all transactions, including auctions, may be carried out. However, tie-breaking competitions held at the start of each competitive period will continue to take place at their regular times.

Additionally, beginning with reservations dated October 7, 2025, Reservation Period 3 will close daily at 15:00 local time, including both weekdays and weekends. This adjustment will apply equally across all three vessel categories: Neopanamax, Supers, and Regular.

These changes reaffirm the Panama Canal’s commitment to adapting to the evolving needs of the maritime industry and its customers.
