OrbitMI hosts successful OrbitFLOW 2024, focusing on maritime innovation and sustainability

Key shipping leaders, climate advocates and technology innovators have gathered at the annual OrbitMIFlow event in New York City to discuss the need for accelerated digital innovation and evolving role of artificial intelligence (AI) in reshaping the maritime industry landscape.

The exclusive three-day function, hosted by NYC-based software-as-a-service company OrbitMI for partners and stakeholders at The Standard hotel, explored the future of ship operations with a focus on digital transformation and sustainability.

The event highlighted pressing challenges and opportunities in decarbonization, AI and data analytics, as well as the need to lower barriers to digital adoption to boost operational efficiencies in the drive towards net zero, fuelled by the need to navigate the complexities of new regulation.

Thought-provoking keynote presentations from renowned speakers, including David Wallace-Wells, author of The Uninhabitable Earth, emphasized the critical intersection between climate change and the shipping industry, and Danilo McGarry, a global authority on AI, explored how maritime organizations can leverage artificial intelligence to stay competitive in an evolving landscape.
