Oceantic Network today announced a new partnership with the Massachusetts Clean Energy Center (MassCEC), a state economic development agency dedicated to accelerating the growth of the clean energy and climatetech sector across the Commonwealth. Oceantic and MassCEC will collaborate to deliver specialized offshore wind education and training programs to businesses across Massachusetts. This collaboration will equip local companies with the knowledge and resources necessary to support the offshore wind energy industry. In doing so, they’ll open up new business prospects and assist the state in meeting its energy goals.
“The Commonwealth of Massachusetts has positioned itself as a leader in clean energy initiatives, with offshore wind playing a pivotal role in the state's energy strategy,” said Stephanie Francoeur, senior vice president of marketing and communications at Oceantic Network. “This new partnership with MassCEC will help the state realize the vast potential for local businesses to contribute to and benefit from the offshore industry and 40-state supply chain. Hundreds of companies in Massachusetts are already working on East Coast commercial-scale projects. This partnership, like previous engagements in Maryland and elsewhere, will unlock even more local jobs and businesses to deliver American-made energy to meet soaring demand.”
Oceantic Network and MassCEC will offer sessions of Oceantic Network’s signature training programs, including:
• Offshore Wind 101: An introductory course for individuals and businesses seeking a general overview of the offshore wind industry. The course covers the U.S. and global markets, components of an offshore wind farm, the structure of the industry, the supply chain, and phases of offshore wind project development.
• Offshore Wind Ready: A one-day educational program providing an overview of offshore wind project development, supply chain components, and guidance on identifying where businesses fit within the industry.
• Foundation 2 Blade: A multi-day comprehensive training program that prepares businesses to capitalize on opportunities throughout the offshore wind supply chain, offering tools, resources, and industry connections for successful market entry.
“Massachusetts is home to a robust and growing offshore wind supply chain, and Oceantic Network’s industry-leading training programs have played a key role in that success,” said Bruce Carlisle, managing director of offshore wind at MassCEC. “Through this partnership, we’re expanding opportunities for local businesses to gain the knowledge and resources they need to compete in the offshore wind industry. By preparing Massachusetts companies to participate in this rapidly growing sector, we’re driving economic growth, creating jobs, and advancing the Commonwealth’s clean energy future.”
