NTEA releases 19th edition of Truck Equipment Handbook

NTEA – The Work Truck Association released the 19th edition of its Truck Equipment Handbook, a comprehensive pocket guide for commercial vehicle components and equipment.

“NTEA’s Truck Equipment Handbook is designed to give industry professionals clear, reliable technical information they can put to use right away,” said Steve Spata, NTEA senior technical assistance director. “The newest edition continues to serve as a practical reference guide — whether someone is just entering the field or has years of experience.”

Topics addressed

  • Fundamental concepts and informational considerations for chassis frames, PTOs, tires and other commercial vehicle systems
  • Vehicle weight analysis fundamentals, calculations and illustrations
  • Overviews of advanced vehicle and fuel technologies
  • Reference material on vehicle certification and Federal/Canadian Motor Vehicle Safety Standards
  • Vehicle lighting requirements with illustrations
  • Weights and measures
  • Glossary of commercial vehicle industry terminology


The new Handbook is available for $15 NTEA members and $29 nonmembers.
