NorthPort marks upgrade milestones

May 18, 2026

NorthPort continues to make steady progress on its three-year structural upgrade program, with several key testing and installation milestones completed over the past month. Works on the initial 40-meter segment at Pier 16, within the 100-meter work area, have been ongoing since April 2026.

Pile Dynamic Analysis testing conducted on the test piles achieved the required design load, confirming compliance with applicable engineering and safety standards. At Terminal 1, works continue to include underdeck repairs, wharf structure rehabilitation, and asset tagging to support long-term asset management. These activities are being implemented concurrently with testing and piling operations, allowing construction momentum to be maintained while upholding safety and quality standards.

The target completion for the current scope of works remains end-June 2026, while the overall project remains on track for completion by the end of 2027, in line with the approved three-year program.

Overall, Terminal 1 structural upgrade works remain aligned with the approved schedule, without compromise to strengthening terminal infrastructure and ensuring continued readiness to support the country’s growing trade and operational demands.
