NORDEN adds new leases with purchase options

Aug 05, 2025

In parallel with their strategy to realize asset values, NORDEN is concurrently also entering new lease agreements with purchase options to ensure they stay positioned for future upside potential. To provide customers with efficient shipping solutions, NORDEN is committed to replacing older vessels with high-quality vessels with the best available fuel performance.

As a continuation of the strategy to grow their presence in the project cargo market, NORDEN has added six new Multi-purpose (MPP) vessel leases with purchase options - four newbuildings delivering 2027/2028 and two second-hand vessels currently trading in their fleet. These new leases highlight the continued focus on strengthening their position and building a core fleet to service customers in the multi-purpose segment, which benefits from favorable supply fundamentals with a rapidly ageing fleet and low orderbook, coupled with a strong projected demand outlook.

In addition to the MPP leases, they have also entered a new Handysize lease agreement with a purchase option for a newbuilding delivering 2026.

Year-to-date, NORDEN has entered 18 new lease agreements with purchase options.
