MSC revises its Asia to North America West Coast network

Feb 27, 2025

In November 2024 MSC announced amendments to its standalone network for several of its East/West services. This included the addition of the Mustang service into the Pacific Northwest. In response to the current market conditions for Transpacific trade, MSC has decided to deploy tonnage intended for our Mustang service to trades in other parts of the world.

Consequently, MSC will suspend its Mustang service until further notice. MSC will therefore make the following changes to our Chinook and Orient services to ensure the connectivity of Busan (eastbound) Ningbo and Portland in our Asia to North America West Coast services:

▪ We will be adding Busan and Portland to the Orient service with the following rotation: Qingdao – Ningbo – Shanghai – Busan – Long Beach – Oakland – Portland – Busan

▪ We will be adding Ningbo to the Chinook service with the following rotation: Vung Tau – Haiphong – Yantian – Ningbo – Shanghai – Qingdao – Busan – Seattle – Prince Rupert – Vancouver – Busan

The other two Transpacific services on our East/West network – Pearl and Sentosa – will remain as follows:

▪ Pearl: Vung Tau – Haiphong – Nansha – Hong Kong – Yantian – Xiamen – Long Beach – Oakland – Kaohsiung

▪ Sentosa: Port Klang – Singapore – Laem Chabang – Vung Tau – Busan – Long Beach – Oakland – Yokohama – Ningbo – Shanghai – Xiamen – Yantian – Singapore
