MSC: Haiti reefer shipment diversion to alternative port of discharge

Mar 08, 2024

The recent unrest in Haiti and state of emergency declared by local authorities has rendered the security situation around the container terminal Caribbean Port Services (CPS) unstable.

Moreover, from Friday 1 March the port is unable to guarantee access to shoreside electrical supply and therefore MSC can no longer discharge reefer containers at CPS.

MSC has implemented contingency plans to divert all reefer shipments to an alternative Port of Discharge in the region in accordance with clause 19 of our Terms and Conditions of Carriage.

Accordingly, please note that MSC will end the carriage of your consignment in an alternative port, details will be provided in due course, cargo will be at your disposal for pick up on your own account (clause 19.1(c)) after payment of due costs and local charges.
