MSC: Guinea new regulation on importation of vehicles (update)

Aug 17, 2021

The inspection requirement at port of loading by EGUIMS/CERTAFRI is suspended until further notice.

However, used vehicle must be inspected by any entity allowed to do so at origin country and that entity is required to issue a certificate or an equivalent document stating the condition of the vehicle. The certificate must be sent to consignee as it will be required during clearing formalities. Shippers must provide a copy of the certificate indicating the vehicle has undergone mandatory inspection to MSC.  The age limitation (ban of any vehicle older than 13 years) remains fully in force.

Please make sure you are in full compliance with above before loading any vehicle. Failure to comply may result in heavy fines and vehicles may be scrapped locally or reloaded back to origin at shippers’ expenses.
