MSC CGS scope: Far East to USA and Canada

Due to ongoing congestion in US and Canada ports, which has greatly impacted vessel operations and created bottlenecks across the country, MSC Mediterranean Shipping Company has decided to implement a Congestion Surcharge (CGS) to maintain the service at the required level.

Effective September 1st, 2021 arrival in USA and Canada ports of discharge, the CGSlevels will be as follows:
Above CGS quantum apply to both reefer and dry cargo.

  • USD 800/20’DV
  • USD 1000/40’DV
  • USD 1125/40’HC
  • USD 1266/45’

MSC is monitoring the situation closely and will inform you as soon as operations will return to normal.
