ECTN - IMPLEMENTATION OF ELECTRONIC CARGO TRACKING NOTE IN DJIBOUTI

SCOPE: USA TO DJIBOUTI

Please note that we have been informed by Djibouti Ports and Free Zone Authority that effective 15th June 2023 (shipped on board date), it is mandatory to show ECTN number on Bill of lading for all imports to Djibouti including shipments to Djibouti Free Zones.

This is being implemented for the safety and security of the port facilities in Djibouti and if any shipments land without ECTN number will have difficulty in clearing and may attract penalties.

ECTN system platform:

- Exporters must obtain an ECTN from Djibouti Ports and Free Zone Authority approved platform at www.ctndjibouti.com when loading containers destined for all Djibouti ports from all US load ports including Puerto Rico.

- The ECTN document should be obtained from the port of loading by the shipper, exporter, booking party or freight forwarder.

- The ECTN number must be written on the bill of lading.

Below are the requirements to obtain an Electronic Cargo Tracking Note (ECTN)

- Bill of Lading

- Commercial invoice

- Freight invoice
