Media Advisory: Release of the ITF Transport Outlook 2023 on 24 May

The International Transport Forum (ITF) at the OECD releases its biennial Transport Outlook on 24 May 2023. The ITF Transport Outlook 2023 contains

  • the latest projections for future global demand for transport to 2050;
  • projections for the CO2 emissions from transport associated with future transport activity
  • an in-depth analysis of the implications for transport policy in view of the Paris Agreement climate goals.

Among other things, the report looks at the investment needs for infrastructure to accelerate transport decarbonization and offers recommendations for mechanisms to allocate investments.

The key findings will be presented at the opening press conference of the Global Summit of Transport Ministers in Leipzig, Germany, on

ITF Secretary-General Young Tae Kim and Mark Harper, Secretary of State for Transport of the United Kingdom, will speak.

An in-depth presentation of the findings will follow from 11:00-12:30 CEST in a Summit session with the authors.
