MBS Logistics establishes new aerospace business unit

Nov 10, 2025

The MBS Logistics Group is expanding its service portfolio with a dedicated business unit for aerospace logistics. Joerg Hansen will lead the new unit from Hamburg. He brings many years of experience in airfreight and aviation logistics, including senior positions at Geis Air + Sea GmbH and Group7 AG.

The transport of components and spare parts for the aviation industry requires precise planning, rapid response and specialized technical expertise. With the new business unit, MBS Logistics is consolidating and further developing capabilities already present within the group: in the time-critical transport services of MBS Anytime and in the aviation logistics expertise of Gerhard Wegmüller GmbH in Zurich, which was acquired this year and has a long-standing focus on aerospace-related logistics.

The combination of time-critical transport solutions, established market presence and deep sector know-how strengthens responsiveness and service quality in international markets. As a result, MBS Aerospace provides a clearly structured point of coordination for organizations operating in complex and often time-sensitive environments. Customers include Original Equipment Manufacturers (OEMs), Maintenance, Repair and Overhaul (MRO) providers, airlines, service centers and parts distributors.

The service portfolio includes Aircraft on Ground (AOG) transport solutions, Next Flight Out (NFO) services, On Board Courier (OBC) assignments, airfreight charter, 24/7 monitoring and operational control, customs and export compliance support, as well as logistics services across maintenance and repair workflows.

“The aviation industry places particular demands on logistics processes, especially in time-critical situations. With the new business unit, we bring together existing expertise, and establish a clear organizational structure tailored to this specialist field. Joerg Hansen brings the required depth of experience and market knowledge to lead it. We are very pleased to welcome him on board,” says Joerg Roehl, CEO of the MBS Logistics Group.
