AGX Freight has announced a new association with Jacksonville-based Markham Endeavors, and its principals, J.R. and Jennifer Markham. The firm, which specializes in trucking and warehousing, adds highly sought-after capacity for AGX in the growing Northeast Florida market. Supply chain challenges plaguing the US west coast over the last year has led to unprecedented growth for east coast ports as shipping lines seek to avoid congestion by re-routing eastbound freight. The addition of Markham Endeavors to AGX’s national transportation network will help both firms capitalize on new regional opportunities.
“We are thrilled to welcome J.R. and Jennifer to AGX Freight,” said Ike Sherlock, Chief Operating Officer & Executive Vice President of AGX. Sherlock added, “the Markham brand is recognized for its legacy of integrity and supply chain excellence in the region. We are excited to support the Markhams and help their agency flourish in the years ahead.”
J.R. Markham started out in the transportation industry as an owner-operator more than 30 years ago. After a successful career tour, including directing operations for a regional truck terminal, as well as managing warehouse space, J.R. launched his first independent agency 2 decades ago. Markham Endeavors was founded 7 years ago on the strength of J.R.’s combined warehousing and logistics experience over the years and continues to grow each year.
“AGX’s corporate headquarters are local to our office,” said Jennifer Markham, “we have great rapport with many of the employees at AGX and we especially like the value that AGX places on their agents and drivers”.
