Mammoet achievements shortlisted for multiple heavy lifting and transport awards

Mar 19, 2020

Mammoet has been shortlisted for five heavy lifting and transport industry awards. Several projects demonstrating the variety of Mammoet’s expertise have been nominated across various categories for the ESTA Awards of Excellence.

The unique and complex removal of a tank at a chemical plant has made the shortlist for Crane Job of the Year in the ‘Telescopic lifting capacity > 120t’ subcategory.
Mammoet’s Trailer Power Assist system improves transport efficiency and significantly lowers the carbon footprint of long-haul heavy transport projects, which led to it being nominated for the Innovation End User award.
For their project for the Combined Techniques award, Mammoet worked closely with the client to develop a bespoke solution for the safe and efficient transport of a set of lock gates for the world’s largest sea lock.
Mammoet overcame a number of challenges while developing a new type of reversing signal for their trailers and this has been recognized in the shortlist for the Safety award.
The challenging transportation of the Corendon Boeing 747-400 airplane is Mammoet’s project in the SPMT category. Mammoet moved the airplane 12.5km to place it in the back garden of a hotel in Schiphol, the Netherlands.
As the awards cover 2019 and was therefore prior to Mammoet’s acquisition of ALE - which took place in January 2020 - one of ALE’s projects has been nominated separately in the SPMT category: the tailored transportation of a fragile World War Two vessel, the HMS Fairmile.
The annual ESTA Awards’ evening traditionally brings together professionals to celebrate the achievements of the heavy haulage, transport and lifting industries from the past year.
At last year’s awards Mammoet received the awards for ‘Lattice Boom Crane Job of the Year’ and ‘Telescopic cranes lifting capacity ≤ 120t and/or knuckle boom cranes of any type and capacity’.
The winners of the ESTA Awards will be announced at a ceremony to be held later this year in October.
