Lots of shards in Nyborg Harbour

Mar 10, 2023

Milbau-Stema Group's new ship Starnes called at Nyborg Harbor on the night of Thursday to unload 36,000 tonnes of granite chips. With a length of 190 meters and a tonnage of 40,000 DWT, Starnes is one of the largest ships to have been called to Nyborg Harbour.

Starnes is a bulk carrier that can unload up to 5,000 tons per hour with its own equipment. So already on Thursday morning the ship was emptied and sailed back to Milbau-Stema's own quarry in Tau, Norway for new cargo.

On 1 January 2023, Stema Shipping and the Port of Nyborg entered into a long-term collaboration that future-proofs Stema Shipping's need for port capacity on Funen.
