Anderson Trucking Service (ATS) proudly announces that Joanna Jungels has been named chair of the Transportation Group of the Specialized Carriers & Rigging Association (SC&RA).
With over 1,300 members worldwide, SC&RA represents the crane, rigging, and specialized transportation industries as it advocates for legislative and regulatory issues and promotes safer, more efficient business practices.
For two decades, Jungels has developed a wealth of industry expertise through her work at ATS Specialized, where she serves as an over-dimensional (OD) permits manager. The complexity of OD permitting and regulatory compliance is a key area of advocacy for the association, which has made Jungels’ deep knowledge, proven leadership, and commitment to advancing the specialized transportation sector invaluable.
“Joanna Jungels knows more about the issues of permitting and [regulations] than anyone I’ve met in this industry, and that’s saying a lot, because there’s a lot of people out there with a lot of knowledge,” said Chris Smith, vice president of transportation for the SC&RA.
Jungels has held various committee roles within SC&RA over 19 years, helping drive initiatives focused on safety education and training, regulatory advocacy, and industry advancement.
“She has sat at the table for years, often with competitors . . . to come together and share ideas for the betterment of the industry. Joanna has shown a real passion for rolling up her sleeves and getting in there,” Smith said.
As a newly elected officer, Jungels will serve a one-year term that expires at the conclusion of the SC&RA’s Annual Conference, held from April 20-24, 2026, at the Omni Amelia Island, Amelia Island, Fla.
Jungels said she is “honored” by the appointment, and eager to continue the collaborative work of facilitating connections and conversations between transportation professionals and regulatory agencies to affect positive change.
“I’m passionate about size and weight [regulations], I’m passionate about permitting, I’m passionate about rules that make sense,” Jungels said. “Let’s work with the states. Let’s continue to shine a light [on issues], to have conversations about what we can do collectively — not just as myself, or as ATS, but as an industry.”
“[This role] is not just about formality,” she added. “It’s about getting things done.”
