Lloyd’s List Intelligence builds AIS data leadership with new Kinéis partnership

Feb 05, 2026

Lloyd’s List Intelligence (LLI) has signed a new partnership with satellite operator Kinéis, expanding its satellite coverage and reinforcing its position as the leading provider of global maritime intelligence

The partnership enhances LLI’s AIS data capabilities across its product suite, with Kineis available as an optional addition to AIS SeaOrbis, the next-generation vessel tracking solution. For customers, this provides access to more reliable global coverage, improved position accuracy in challenging regions, and faster visibility of vessel movements when needed. The result is higher confidence in risk assessment, monitoring, and operational decision-making in an increasingly complex and fragmented AIS market.

Beyond enhanced tracking performance, the partnership delivers tangible benefits for customers across shipping and adjacent sectors. Shipowners, charterers, and operators gain clearer visibility of vessel activity to support operational planning and compliance, while banks and insurers benefit from higher-confidence monitoring to inform risk assessment and exposure management. For commodity traders, improved coverage and accuracy support better trade flow analysis and decision-making, particularly in complex or hard-to-track regions.

Enhanced global coverage

Kinéis is a French satellite operator specializing in satellite AIS data, providing global vessel tracking across both high-traffic maritime corridors and remote ocean regions. With a constellation of modern satellites, its AIS capability is designed to deliver reliable and comprehensive vessel detection across all maritime environments with high revisit rates and low latency - from coastal regions to deep ocean.

Greater capability and resilience

This new partnership enhances Lloyd’s List Intelligence’s AIS offering, reinforcing the scale and resilience of its existing capability including its proprietary global terrestrial AIS network and extensive shipborne AIS network.

The inclusion of Kinéis data expands LLI’s satellite AIS coverage and increases the volume of AIS information available, supporting the most complete vessel tracking solution, from established maritime routes to the remotest maritime regions.

This partnership also offers LLI’s AIS SeaOrbis customers increased choice via the introduction of an additional AIS data source, offering added flexibility and ensuring long-term resilience.

“To navigate the complexities of modern maritime trade, our customers require both depth of analysis and breadth of coverage. This partnership with Kinéis strengthens the foundational AIS data our customers trust for unmatched global visibility. This collaboration ensures that we continue to lead the market in the resilience and quality of our maritime intelligence data. By layering Kinéis’ satellite technology into our existing infrastructure, we are delivering a robust, multi-tier data ecosystem that guarantees comprehensive coverage, even in the world's most remote maritime regions,” said Parvin Conners, Chief Data Officer at Lloyd’s List Intelligence. “It is also proof of our ongoing commitment to delivering the highest-quality information, analytics, and risk evaluation to customers across the maritime sector.”

“The partnership with Lloyd’s List Intelligence confirms the relevance and value of Kinéis’ satellite AIS stream in an increasingly strategic market. By strengthening access to reliable and resilient AIS data, including in the most complex areas, we are proud to address the new surveillance, risk‑management, and decision‑making challenges facing the sector today.” — Cécile Morel, Chief Commercial Officer of Kinéis
