Landstar System, Inc. recognized its top independent owner-operators for safety and performance at the 2026 Landstar BCO All-Star Celebration.

During the event, Landstar inducted its newest class of Million Mile Safe Drivers and Roadstar® honorees. The Class of 2025 includes 101 new One Million Mile Safe Drivers, 22 Two Million Mile Safe Drivers, two Three Million Mile Safe Drivers and one Four Million Mile Safe Driver — only the sixth independent owner-operator in Landstar history to achieve that milestone. Each inductee has driven at least one million consecutive miles while leased to Landstar without a preventable accident.

Of Landstar’s over 1,000 active Million Mile Safe Drivers, including those inducted in this class, 11 individuals were recognized with the Roadstar designation. The Roadstar distinction is one of Landstar’s highest honors for independent owner-operators and is awarded to the “best of the best” based on consistent excellence in safety, productivity and customer service. Landstar began presenting the Roadstar award in 1990. Today, there are 165 active Roadstar honorees, including the newest Class of 2025.

“Achieving one million miles or more without a preventable accident is a rare milestone that reflects exceptional discipline, focus and a deep commitment to safety,” said Landstar President and CEO Frank Lonegro. “We are honored to recognize these independent owner-operators who exemplify our safety-first culture. Our Landstar Roadstar honorees represent the highest standards in safety, security, and service, and their dedication has distinguished them among the very best in our network.”

In addition to recognizing its newest Million Mile Safe Drivers and Roadstar honorees, Landstar presented its BCO Lifetime Achievement Award, one of the company’s highest honors, to Frederick Foster of Niles, Michigan. Foster, a Landstar Roadstar honoree and Two Million Mile Safe Driver, has been a member of the Landstar network since 1989 and has built a 36-year career marked by zero preventable accidents.

Named a Roadstar honoree in 1993, Foster achieved Million Mile Safe Driver status in 2005 and surpassed two million safe miles in 2024. Specializing in heavy-haul freight and AA&E transportation, he is known for safely moving high-security cargo with precision and reliability. His career reflects his longstanding commitment to safety, security, and service excellence, which shape Landstar’s network.
