Keolis in North America announces a new contract for the U.S. business to operate Tri Delta Transit for Eastern Contra Costa Transit Authority (ECCTA), expanding the company’s footprint in California and reinforcing its commitment to delivering high-quality mobility solutions across the state and nationwide.

Under the new four-year contract with the opportunity for three two-year options, Keolis will provide fixed-route, paratransit, micro transit, and non-emergency medical transportation for eastern Contra Costa County, California. Keolis will take over operations on July 1, 2026. The contract award reflects ECCTA’s confidence in Keolis’ operational expertise, workforce development programs, and track record of strong community partnerships.

“We are proud to partner with Eastern Contra Costa Transit Authority and support their mission to provide safe, dependable transportation options for the communities they serve,” said Fadi Chakbazof, president and chief operating officer for U.S. Transit at Keolis. “This award reflects the strength of our U.S. transit team and our shared focus on performance, innovation, and customer service.”

Keolis is committed to ensuring a smooth and positive transition for the existing Tri Delta Transit workforce. The company prioritizes employee retention, recognizing that it stems from a positive work environment where team members are treated fairly, feel valued, and have access to professional development opportunities. Keolis’ commitment to workforce engagement ensures high retention and service quality for ECCTA and the communities it serves.

The ECCTA award continues a period of sustained growth and renewed partnerships for Keolis in North America. Recent successes include:

  • A new contract with Virginia Railway Express (VRE) to operate and maintain commuter rail service connecting Northern Virginia to Washington, D.C., strengthening Keolis’ rail portfolio in the United States.
  • The recent award with the Nantucket Regional Transit Authority for bus operations serving the island of Nantucket in Massachusetts, supporting year-round and seasonal visitors with reliable mobility services.

Together, these new awards and renewals highlight Keolis’ diversified portfolio across bus, paratransit, commuter rail, parking, and airport mobility services in the United States and Canada. Keolis focuses on safety performance, employee engagement, and continuous improvement initiatives that drive measurable results for agency partners. The company brings extensive global experience managing complex transportation networks in both large metropolitan regions and growing communities.
