International Tolling Association on the House approval of the INVEST in America Act of 2021

Jul 01, 2021

The International Bridge, Tunnel and Turnpike Association (IBTTA), the worldwide association for the owners and operators of toll facilities and the businesses that serve them, released the following statement today following House passage of H.R. 3684, the “Investing in a New Vision for the Environment and Surface Transportation in America Act” (INVEST in America Act).

“IBTTA and its members salute the U.S. House of Representatives for passing the INVEST in America Act, an important step in reauthorizing the federal surface transportation program. We look forward to working with the House, Senate and Administration to ensure timely enactment of final legislation that recognizes the important role that tolling and road pricing play in meeting America’s investment, mobility and climate change goals,” said Mark Compton, CEO of the Pennsylvania Turnpike Commission and 2021 President of IBTTA.

“As leaders and innovators in transportation and tolling, IBTTA and its members are prepared to support Congress in advancing solutions to rebuild and modernize our infrastructure, strengthen our economy, and improve the lives of all Americans,” said Pat Jones, Executive Director and CEO of IBTTA. “We stand ready to encourage tolling and road pricing programs that serve as an equitable means of transportation funding and finance,” Jones added.
