Hutchinson Ports celebrates its groundbreaking ceremony at Sokhna Port

On 9 July 2024, the groundbreaking ceremony for Hutchison Ports Sokhna (Red Sea Containers Terminal S.A.E.) was held at Sokhna Port with a handling capacity of 1.7 million TEU. The event was attended by Clemence Cheng, Managing Director of Hutchison Ports - Europe; EDECS, the civil construction company and representatives from CMA Terminals and COSCO SHIPPING Ports.

In addition, Hutchison Ports will also invest in the development of 'B100', a new container terminal located in Port of Alexandria.

The total investment in both projects is approximately $700 million, bringing the Group's total investment in Egypt to over S$1.5 billion, paving a solid foundation for the company's strategy to expand its network and enhance its capabilities in emerging markets like Egypt.
