Hapag Lloyd US exports via Canada - cross-border rail

Aug 27, 2020

Effective as from Tuesday, September 8, 2020, Hapag Lloyd will no longer provide the Earliest Receiving Date (ERD) or Last Receiving Date (LRD) for cargo moving via rail from USA origins via Canada load ports.

Dry container ERD is four days (rail ramp working days) including cargo cut-off day.

Reefer ERD is three days (rail ramp working days) including cargo cut-off day.

Ensure that your motor carrier is checking the rail website for ERD details.

Containers delivered to the ramp too early are subject to storage and demurrage charges, which are for the merchant’s account.
