Global fleet management platform Wialon launches 4th edition of its worldwide competition: IoT Project of the Year

Wialon, one of the world’s leading IoT and fleet management platforms developed by European software company Gurtam, announces the launch of the IoT Project of the Year 2024. This global competition aims to recognize and showcase the most innovative fleet and IoT projects worldwide.

IoT project of the year is a unique competition for companies implementing projects using telematics and IoT technologies. Wialon organizes the awards to promote the use of modern tools to solve various business needs across key industries. It also aims to create a platform for companies worldwide to showcase and exchange ideas, recognize contributions in the telematics field, and share their achievements.

Service providers of any scale, or industry who have implemented projects for clients in fleet management using telematics and IoT technologies from the beginning of 2023 to April 30, 2024, are invited to submit their projects. Entries are free and can be submitted online until August 2, 2024.

The competition’s panel of judges comprises global industry experts in IoT and telematics, who will evaluate entries based on criteria such as scalability, innovation, effectiveness, and practicability. Up to 40 finalists will be announced on September 19, 2024, with winners revealed at an awards ceremony hosted on October 13, 2024 in Dubai.

Awards for the twelve IoT Project of the Year winners include publicity and promotion within the global IoT and telematics ecosystem, as well as $1,000 prizes for marketing campaigns for each of the winners. Additionally, the four top winners will receive the invitation to exhibit at the Wialon IoT Zone, or up to $2,000 travel expenses, in any qualifying Wialon industry event worldwide.

This year marks the fourth edition of Wialon’s IoT project of the year global contest. Previous winners have included a highly diverse range of IoT applications in cold-chain transportation, AI-based video telematics in long-haul shipping, fuel consumption and fleet management applications in construction, public transport management, farming, route emergency alert systems in cargo transportation in the Arctic, fleet monitoring in the sub-Saharan region, or endangered species monitoring.

“B2B tech companies often fly under the radar in terms of public awareness, so recognition by peers is incredibly valuable, especially in a specialized industry such as IoT and telematics. This year’s IoT project of the year competition aims to bring again into the spotlight the best minds and the most effective projects in our industry, and we place a strong emphasis on diversity. We understand that great results and innovative solutions can be achieved just as well in projects for a small construction company with 50 vehicles, for example, or a big taxi fleet with 1,000 cars. All innovative projects and experts deserve industry-wide recognition, and that’s what the Wialon IoT project of the year global competition is about”, says Andrei Liatsetski, Head of Project Implementation at Wialon.
