FSI, Inc. to officially transition to ContainerPort Group family

Dec 22, 2020

ContainerPort Group (CPG®), an industry leader in drayage and intermodal trucking, has announced that as of January 1, 2021, FSI, Inc. will formally join the CPG family. This move will generate additional capacity for customers across the Southeast, and will add 120 trucks to CPG’s fleet, bringing its total truck count to over 1,300 independent contractors.

“We’re excited to add these drivers to the fleet,” says CPG President Richard McDuffie. “By adding power units now, we are positioning our organization for success as we get into 2021. We’ve been working with FSI and their team for several months, so this really will be a change in name only. We’ll still be providing the same level of service that customers are used to receiving.”

FSI, Inc. operated several terminals in the Carolinas. These facilities, and the independent contractors that operate out of them, will consolidate and transition to the CPG brand as of January 1.

“I’ll echo Richard’s excitement: we are thrilled about joining forces with CPG,” says TJ Frye, FSI, Inc.’s President. “This transition will allow for more opportunities, as the alignment of FSI with CPG will streamline the dispatch of freight. And there will be other opportunities to help more customers in more markets as we grow.”

The acquisition of FSI, Inc. was previously announced in October of 2020. As part of the transition, TJ Frye has been named Regional Vice President for CPG.
