Freight Transportation Services Index (TSI), May 2020

The Freight TSI measures the month-to-month changes in for-hire freight shipments by mode of transportation. The Passenger TSI measures the month-to-month changes in travel that involves the services of the for-hire passenger transportation sector. In the previous release for April, the Freight TSI fell 7.7% in April from March, falling for the third consecutive month. From April 2019 to April 2020, the index fell 10.0% compared to a rise of 2.7% from April 2018 to April 2019 and a rise of 8.0% from April 2017 to April 2018.
