TRIWO Hahn Airport GmbH and Aktau International Airport Joint Stock Company have entered a strategic partnership. Both operators have signed a partnership agreement for Frankfurt-Hahn Airport (HHN) and Aktau International Airport (SCO), which is located in Kazakhstan. The cooperation is focusing on the cargo sector and involves, for example, identifying opportunities for collaboration. The partnership is already yielding tangible results: Two flights have already been completed, with two more to follow shortly. Additional flights are being planned, demonstrating the freight potential between the regions.

In addition, both locations will engage in a close exchange on proven processes – for example, in key areas such as technology, security, customer service, and operations. This applies to both the cargo and passenger sectors. Another goal of the partnership is to expand trade relations between Germany and Kazakhstan.

Hahn Airport is one of the few airports in Germany with a 24/7 operating license. Its strategic location in the heart of Europe allows it to effectively serve major production and logistics centers throughout the European Union, positioning it as an ideal gateway to the Middle East and Asia.

The Kazakh airport of Aktau is strategically located in the Mangystau region, the country's only region with direct access to the Caspian Sea. The airport is poised to develop and establish itself as a vital transit freight hub on the Europe-Asia route. Aktau offers customers a 24/7 customs and border control point, and a direct rail connection is planned.

“We are committed to the continuous development of our airport and are always seeking valuable cooperation partners. We are highly anticipating this new partnership with Frankfurt-Hahn Airport. Our face-to-face meeting in Germany was an excellent and promising start to our collaborative journey,” says Meruyert Zholdybayeva, General Manager Aktau International Airport.

“Through its partnership with Aktau International Airport, Frankfurt-Hahn Airport is expanding its global network,” said Rüdiger Franke, Managing Director and CEO of Hahn Airport. “We are very excited about the opportunities this cooperation will bring. I am convinced that both airports can support each other in many ways and will benefit immensely from our mutual exchange of expertise.”
